I asked Evie "What do you want to do this weekend?" and she answered "Go to the beach!" And that's what we did.
We found ourselves a spot and then Evie grabbed her bucket and we took a long walk collecting shells and pretty stones. Along the way we found a TINY lobster (?) and some coral with something(s) still living inside it. We also found some pieces of jellyfish that must have died. Evie made sure to put the live animals back in the ocean and picked up any trash she found along the way. What a good California girl!
Since she was little, Evie has always loved to dig in the sand. She also loves to make friends. It just so happened that she found a friend to help make sand castles. Evie and Ruby (from Massachusetts) had so much fun. They built castles, buried each other in the sand, played in the waves and chased one another with buckets of water and at the end of the day promised to never forget the other. Very cute.
It was a beautiful day at the beach and we had a lot of fun. Pictures here.
